The Hatching
Their wonder has almost faded and gone.
The Watcher’s vigil is tainted with fear.
Beauty and elegance awaits new birth.
The time of The Hatching is near.
One more chance to continue the line
Another chance for wonder to spread it’s wings.
More than a symbol and greater than hope.
Redemption relies on the smallest things.
Will they hear anew its?piercing voice
And glory in its?plunging dive?
Can they end the legacy of loss
Which only does ourselves deprive?
The Watchers rejoice as the shell is breached!
With a tiny cry the world is blessed.
The Osprey cares only for the feathered lump
Still wet and fresh in her loving nest.
What matters one more egg, you say?
Ask the last in the line for the reason.
For the Watchers may be many,
But the Gatherers are Legion.
