Falling Rain on Strangers
Falling rain, bouncing drops
like ballerinas on the pavements
Lost words fight for amplification
in the torrent that follows
and I lose you
in the passing of the storm.
Days pass and sunlight kisses
all the footsteps trodden on the pavements
of departures long forgotten
passing through.
Last years leaves like the papers lay discarded
gently blowing like a relic
in the wind that breaks your heart
Lost letters, silent phones
memories of regret
intervening like a counsellor
in your moments of distress
lank hair and dulled eyed
you move from chemicals to talking
But im not sure you caught
the train I wanted you to catch
Weeds trangress like creepers
on the tracks of your misfourtune
strangling like ivy all the trapped thoughts in your mind
will it be the same tomoorow
will the candle light the darkness
will the torch that burns inside
make headway in the rain.
You dance your games of denial
knowing deep down all the truth
but instead of sunlit kisses
you just drown them with more pain
Falling rain like ballerinas
dancing on the pavements
washing all the traces
of the stranger you became.
