Looking to the horizon
with an uninterrupted view
rolling hills of red sand and spinifix
as far as you can see
disappearing in the distance
a line of ghost gums
follows the serpents trail
leading to a water hole
that has long been forgotten
reflections play
on the sides of the cliff faces
and signal the ending of day
welcoming  the evening yet to come
The waning moon is high in the  sky
And in the distance there is the sound
of merriment coming from the tree tops
to warm the hearts of the ancestors
who once lived here.
Spirit fills this land
And speaks to my heart.
Here I feel at peace

Cara 2003

I love this land
It was nice to read again after all this time

Hy, I am so glad you decided to post this one from 2003, Cara,

your love of the land is so obvious, a wonderful piece which I like very much as it also brought to mind some of the places I found in Nevada where the past is still present, thanks (and you have given me an idea for Sunday, lol, watch this space) Zy

Thankyou
yes the landscape is beautiful
you can drink the beauty with your soul
energy and majesty combine
and it is truly breathtaking.
