How significant are you ... in life To the firmament Does thought interfere with process change the course of time, How do you perceive yourself, compared to the universe of man Insignificant ... Yet still ... you can change the course of lives That come within your grasp. Maria© |

We are set here by destiny and for a purpose...ever wondered why some live long lives and some cut short? Think about it Philip... Maria |

Reality is a state of mind, Peter. We choose to live here or in the past...what we do with our lives is up to us...so you do make a point... Reality is being everywhere and here...it is in the spirit. Love your sense of the rediculous...lol Mariaxx |

I often look up at the stars & feel very insignificant, but you saying at the end of your poem, we can in our own small way make a difference, is very comforting, Maria. Nice poem. Val xx |

Well Philip, I think unconventional, and this may be one of them...I believe that we have been put here with a goal to fulfill, to touch lives and accomplish something that life offers us...some people do it right and are no longer needed ... so they die to their body, but not their spirit, for the spirit lives on. They have left an impression ... an etching you might say... Thank you for asking...it shows your interest on this subject... best regards, Maria |

We are all angels unaware Val ... we are here to help and be gracious to others, so that they might feel significant too...I am sure you have had an epiphany when you suddenly were there to help someone, quite by accident...ever wonder what would happen if you didn't? Best regards, Maria |

Thank you Stella, there are questions that cannot be explained away...I blame it on fate, destiny, or even kismit...roles in this life...liken to a fine thread that runs through a tapestry...if we were not there, the picture would not be complete... Shanti ... namaste...Peace, Maria |

Thank you Maria! I also think we are here for a purpose, which is to help bring about God's plan for His spirit children, born in the premortal existence,to Himself and our Heavenly Mother. When we die,we leave our body, and are spirit persons again, until the resurrection, when we are re-united with our body in perpetuity. The quality of life we enjoy in the hereafter will be based upon our choices in this mortal life. We can choose to do good, with the consequent blessings,or to do the opposite with the consequent penalties. We do have the opportunity to repent of our misdeeds, and be forgiven for them. For me,keeping the commandments of Jesus Christ are a sure way of achieving our fullest potential, and being happy, here and in the hereafter. |

You speak for most Christians...but what of those who have no form of rules...then we are to set an example, by showing human kindness to those who are lost or have no moral truths...this is what I was speaking about, the significance of our actsions in the world. Maria |

Another good question,Maria! Those who do not have the opportunity to know about and follow divine law in this life will be given the opportunity in the spirit world. That is true and divine justice. As for those who die before the age of accountability[which for us is 8] they have fulfilled the measure of their creation and will inherit all that the Father has. Those young men/women who have been killed in wars will also be given the opportunities that they have missed while alive. Infinite is the mercy and justice of God. I think the bottom line is that everybody will be judged by the desires of the heart. |

Great response Philip, I am thinking about the parable of the Good Samaritan...the people who are so loathed because of their way of life or beliefs...Jesus came for the sinners and poor in spirit...he did not look upon the leaders of the churche or the rich, so I am inclined to believe that every man has a chance, no matter what he does or does not do, as long as he is pure of heart...of course Christians have a responsibility, we are here to help Christ in the work of salvation...by holding out out our hands. A thought provoking piece, Maria, and a thread which also provokes further thought. Each to their own is my motto, as long as it falls within the parallels of love and caring, which like ripples on the sea... are both far reaching and go a long, long way to touch on another (metaphoric) shore, Zy |
