How swiftly I lost myself to this place!
My roots stretch deep into the ground;
And like a flower, turned to the sun,
I reach for the sky but stay earthbound.

Perhaps no longer the drifter I was,
A songbird confined, though merry yet.
What flight of fancy drew me here;
An act of whimsy or was it kismet?

An unassuming place, perhaps,
For one whose preference was to roam;
But I knew this place within my heart,
My ancient soul returning home.
