Hello, I'm Glenda, and am currently owned by the beagle "tenpack" - a few of them are shown above. We're expecting a new litter in just about a month! I'm a 69 year old "grandmother" - and am about to get my life back after having my daughter and her husband living with me for a couple of years. It's nice to see others here that I "know" from other groups - Nilla, and "Carol" (love your recipes, Carol), jewelsgalor, among others - so I feel like I'm with old friends already! My life pretty much revolves around the beagle brats. But I do work part time as a caregiver for seniors. Like Carol, I love to cook and have a lot of cookbooks, but NOT as many as she has. I also collect plates - and dishes - my mom (who passed away 8 years ago) and I both loved pretty dishes and we have quite a few sets including 2 sets of Christmas dishes (1 to serve 12, 1 to serve 16), 1 set of "fruits", which I use on Thanksgiving, it also serves 16, a set of dainty pansies - also for 16 - a set of pretty pastel blue flowers (also 16), the china my mom gave me years ago - (ONLY a service for 12), mom's Noritake (it's ONLY for 8). We used to have a lot of big dinners - and loved setting a pretty table. None of them are really "expensive", but pretty. Almost forgot the "every day" set - just inexpensive "ironstone". With the hounds here, don't have so much company. When my daughter moves out, I'll give her the pansies, and the blue flowers will go to my granddaughter. I'm trying to downsize and get ready to move from this big old house into something a little easier for me to maintain. This house is 3 full stories - each floor roughly 1900 square feet - lots of stairs - and at my age, and with arthritis in my back, neck and shoulders, not much fun. I love to read, and have TONS of books, but am getting cataracts, so don't read as much as I did in the past. Okay, that's about enough about ME. Have a great 1st day of SPRING!! Glenda 'n the pack |
