Home Depot carries it some time.If you can't find it you can try bleaching oak.

Ray,
Where are you located? Maybe someone close by has a source.

You might try Ocooch Hardwoods in Richland Center, Wisconsin.  You can check out their site at Occochhardwoods.com

Hope this helps.

I use this supplier:  www.ocoochhardwoods.com .  They have decent prices and are fairly quick to ship.

Lowes usually carries it also.  It would be located back with the Oak and Poplar.  Another good White Wood is Holly, if you can find it.  That you need to check wqith a lumber yard.

If you cannot find Aspen,  Look at some Holly.  It is a clear and white wood.  Good Luck. Doug

I personally know that "Menards" home improvement store carries it all the time. They have it on sale every now and then. I am also waiting for it to go on sale so that I can make some puzzles. See if you have one in your area.

Try D&D Woodcrafts - 1-888-751-1400.  I've used them for several years & recommend them highly.  They're in Saylorsburg, PA

I sell Aspen. Problem is, they harvest the trees before they get very big, so I have a hard time getting very wide stock. When I can find it, I'll grab 8" - 10" boards, but right now, all I have is 6" wide and under.

Would Poplar work for you? I've got that all the way up to 12" wide.

No basswood and aspen are not the same. But, both are soft deciduous trees.
