Rules for Posting and Downloading Free Patterns
Hello Scrollers,
Just a few guidelines for posting free patterns on this site. I
personally thank you all for contributing to your fellow scrollers by
offering them a free pattern to try out. We must keep this site in
order and out of trouble by adhering to certain guidelines.
1) Please do your best to post finished patterns that need little touch
up so that scrollers may just print them out and begin cutting on them.
If you have trouble doing so please ask for help on the site and then
post the pattern after you have put your best into it.
2) Please do your part to keep copyright protected material
off of this site.
A) Do not post patterns from any scroll saw books. (Tell members
what book it is in so they may purchase that book)
B) Do not post patterns of symbols and animated characters that
represent a business or franchise theme, and do not post patterns of
Sports/NASCAR teams. These are considered taboo and are blatant copyright
infringement. Patterns from copyrighted pictures are not permitted.
They must be public domain pictures, pictures you have permission to use,
or your own pictures. (If in question, please check with one of the moderators
to see if the pattern can be posted)
C) Do not post a pattern that you did not make yourself unless
you have express written permission from the original designer to do so.
D) Do not post anything to do with the sale of a pattern. This
is only allowed in the designers area.
3) Put your name on each pattern you submit. This helps scrollers to
keep track of who made the pattern so they can give you credit for
making it. It also is your affidavit that you made the pattern
yourself.
4) Designers offering free patterns put a lot of work into making them
and are very generous to offer them to you.
Respect their efforts in telling others who made them and
do not mass produce their work for your benefit; this includes CNC
and laser machine production.
In most cases (unless otherwise specified on the pattern) a designer does
not mind if you cut finished pieces to sell at craft shows or at a hobbyist
level. They do not make free patterns for you to make and sell as a
business.
5) Do not copy, sell, give away, or in any other way distribute a
designer's pattern(s). You should tell folks where they can get the
patterns.
6) Designers please specify on your pattern (in written text) if you
would like the scroller to use the pattern for personal use only.
Personal use is defined as for yourself or to give as a gift.
7) This site is for all scrollers therefore no patterns of a subjective
nature are allowed to be posted. e. g.: partial nudity, nudity,
profanity, etc.)
8) The most important rule is to wear a smile while cutting these
patterns. You don't have to show teeth as the saw dust may fill the
voids. LOL
These patterns are offered for free to the scroller. There is no
guarantee on any aspect of the pattern. They are specifically designed
for you to practice your abilities on the scroll saw and to have
patterns available that you do not need to buy to have fun with. These
patterns do not reflect the site as a whole but do reflect the
generosity of the designers who made them.
The moderators have every authority by me to delete a pattern that does
not follow the preceding guidelines, or if the pattern may seem like a
copyright violation. This is enforced to keep this site online for you.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. If you have any input or
additions to this file please feel free to email the Moderators.
