youll find cutting cd rom disks to be a real trick,,,
the lable side contains a really thin paint layer under that the foil mirror surface is applied, but only attached at the hub abd the outter edeges of the disk,
when you cut the plastic it will heat by friction and try to melt and reweld behind the blade.
to stop the plastic friction rewelding you can actualy contaminate the plastic and use any oil or petrolum jelly b but the trick is to put just enough to keep it from leaking between the foil and the cd disk.
the foil layer if disturbed is simular to glitter or christmas bulbs its very brittle and fragile. nearly anything will make it turn loose and get in the wind., i have tried to glue 2 cdroms label to label then cut them but with little secess trying to make wind ornimates to hang in the yard. the sun distroys any bond with hot melt glue or acitone. and the foil layer leaves in the wind..
