Hello everyone,

I would like to ask about what glue you use for your projects. I have been using Aleene's Tacky Glue purchased from Wal-Mart and it seems to do an ok job. I've also used Aleene's Aliphatic Wood Glue, but I'm not too pleased with the fact that it is brown and that it stays brown after it dries. I usually put several coats of clear acrylic on my projects to show the natural beauty of the wood and any glue that I missed when cleaning up the joints will show up.

I am particularily interested in knowing what CA glue you use and where it can be purchased.

Thanks for the help.

El Tanner

The best glue for joining bare wood to bare wood is good old yellow carpenter's glue. People use Aleens glue which is on par with white glue such as Elmor's white glue. The CA glue used for wood is not the same as sold in homecenters such as crazy glue. Do a google search and check out wood turner's catalogs. It is used alot in turning. But it is a brittle glue. Glue does not have the same holding power when the pieces being glued are finished. Learn to be more sparingly with glue. Alot is not always better.
