I have posted a pics of my cutting of my Grandson Finn on the right and of Finn's cousin, on the left, who is just the same as another grandson.  This was one more learning experience for me. First don't try to pattern kinfolks because you can never get a pattern or cutting that will please everyone from the pattern maker, cutter, grand parents or the Moms.

I stack cut 3 pieces at a time and I went thru 4 stacks before I was satisfied with the cutting.

very nice work Darrel, I like your stuff, I have a question for you concerning Photobucket , has it helped you in selling any of your work?

I can not give you an answer to the effectiveness of photobucket for marketing your wares as I have not offered any of my work for sale.  Everything I have posted on Photobucket  is free to be copied.  Maybe I'm  my own worse critic, but I just don't think my work is that good.

I do appreciate your comments.

Darrell, I think your cutting is very good, & don't think anyone should say otherwise! I just finished one of my step-grandson, who was killed in an accident & it is going to be a gift to his Mom. It's how you feel, when you finish your piece of work & I too, am my own worse critic. I will say that I think I do well, but, give most of my work to friends & relatives.  Just keep working at what you enjoy, that's important. Enjoy Scrolling.           Larry

I bet you had a tough time with the pattern/cutting for your daughter-in-law.  We lost my brother in law a year ago and I wasted so much ink and time in just getting a pattern that I was satisfied with.  Then I went thru a lot of 1/8" BB because before I made a cutting that good enough to give to my sistern in law and her girls.

I agree that for most folks..the toughest critic they have is their self.  I also believe in cutting "STUFF" that you like and enjoy cutting.   I do try to cut patterns that people are glad to receive and will hang on their wall.

Darrell-
Don't sell yourself short. I cut your pattern of the Whitefish Point Lighthouse and had it for sale at my last show. There was a lady that came by and went crazy over it. She loved it, thought it looked just like the actual lighthouse, which she had just visited last year. She scooped it up! I had it in a simple frame that I make myself out of rough cedar 1 X 2's. Keep up the good work!

Darrell, Larry again. I have to tell you that I don't have any software to make patterns with. I do it by hand. Trace photo, transfer it to wood & cut. You would be surprised how well they come out. But, I have an Art talent to help me. I found that it is much easier than trying to figure out all that hoop la, like Photo Paint Shop etc. It sounds like you do fine work, so keep up the good work. Take Care   Larry
