The American Kestrel is by Rick McCulley from the spring '08 issue of Scroll Saw Woodworking and Crafts.  The two portraits are my patterns, one of friends of mine, and the other of myself and wife. The Golden Eagle is from a photo I took on our return from Alaska last year.  We had stopped for the night at a Provincial Park in Yukon   where this eagle landed  on our picnic table in hope of grabbing a pork chop that I had set out to defrost.  He didn't get the dinner he hoped for, but did hang around on the picnic table long enough for me to sit down across from him and take a bunch of pictures.  It was a thrill to sit less than two feet from a wild eagle.  He was obviously comfortable around humans, and had probably been getting food from campers at this location for a while.  The final picture is me at the grill with my visitor close by as proof that this really did happen!!

The pattern of the eagle is available if anyone is interested.  I don't know if I will be successful in  placing it in "Free Patterns".

Look who is coming to dinner?  a Golden Eagle!!  What a thrill for you.

The SmokinScroller (miss spelled) is one heck of a pattern maker and you did justice by his pattern.

Bruce, that must have been a memorable trip. I just can't imagine a Golden Eagle that close. Was great that you were able to get pictures & a great pattern from them. Nice cutting !      Larry
