Hi Everyone,
I received a 10 x 10 EZ up canopy for Christmas for craft shows. When I did my first craft show before I had the canopy I set up all my scroll work on a Sheet of pegboard that I built a frame for. I also had a 8 foot table in front to show my standing items. I thought I was doing good by having everything right out so it was easy to see but a "neighbor" crafter said I should set up my area so that people have to stop and "come in" to see what I have.Does anyone have any experience which is better? I understand the concept but don't want people to pass my booth up without seeing what I have to offer. This site is an awsome wealth of information and Gary and all his staff deserve high praise for their hard work! Thanks.     Bob Smith

Bob
I also use the EZup canopy and I set up two tables and 8 and a 6 footer at right angles to each other if I am at the end of a row and 3 6 footers in a U if I am in the middle this way people see some of my stuff no matter which way they come down the aisle'

i also use the pegboard, painted flat black which helps the work stand out.the best advice i can give, set up in your yard, try different styles till you find something that works for you. a great source is other crafters, go to shows ,scope out the booths, see what you like & don,t like.then apply it to yours.you will learn with exp, & your booth will [constantly] evolve! stikman

Bob, I also have a 10 x 10 EZup. First off, if you didn't get the sides for the canopy, I would highly recommend you get them for all four sides, three sides minimum.

For setup, I made a 6 x 6 lattice panel to hang things from. I place this on one side and give it extra support (from a gust of wind) by attaching it to the tent rails at the top.  On the opposite side I put up those plastic shelves that come apart. This is where I put all my non-hanging items. In the back I have a small 4ft table that I use to make transactions, wrap purchases, etc...covered with a tablecloth to the ground to hide my boxes, cash box, etc...

To attract attention from passer-byers, I have an "A" shaped pegboard that I place in the center as far out into the path of the crowd as possible. This still allows people to walk into my both from either side of that pegboard display. Also on the 2 front polls, I attach those wire grid shelves in the verticle position to hang more things from. This definately gets the eye of people who then venture in to see more!

I think I still have pics of the lattice panel and some craft fair pics in my album. As stickman noted, visit as many different craft fairs as you can and observe what others use for display and set-up.

Thanks for the feedback clockman. My Dad cuts his patterns by stack cutting and takes a couple of 1/4 inch pieces and puts veneer between those cutting up to ten of the same at once, and being my first show the repeat patterns are there because otherwise there would be a lot of open spaces! This year there will be no repeats! I made over half my sales from custom frames that I design and make.I know what you mean about a sail.I was lucky that day but did have stakes and rope ready.I see the idea of chicken wire but my pictures and plaques are only made to be put on a wall so not much to see on the reverse side.I am looking forward to this season and with all the great help on this site we all benefit! Thanks again to you and all who respond to the many questions!               Bob
