My wife and I are starting our 2003 craft show season with the Daffodil Festival
in Camden Arkansas on March 7/8. We have never been there but it sounds like the town really gets behind this event. Lots to do besides the craft show. Also it is farther south than Denver Co and therefore better suited for an outdoor show this time of the year.  If any of you are in that area look us up. We will be the booth with the pedal scroll saw.  Hope to meet a few of you there.

Good luck with the show.  Let us know how it went and if people are parting with their money!

Jeff, will be interesting to see how you do. I personally haven't had very good sales at functions that include various activities with a craft fair. Seemed the parents were there to have the children entertained and not much selling went on for the crafters. But every place is different and there is no "general rule". I just won't do those type of fairs unless I can get a spot for $20-30.

We are back from the Daffodil Festival in Camden Arkansas  I tell you the people in Camden are the nicest people anywhere. Our sales were about equal to our expenses  for the entire trip plus a small pile of wood we bought at a small milll.
We had a good time met some really nice people and came home with som wood (profit). Can't beat that with a stick.

Are you going to the one in Mountain Home next Saturday? It will be our
first craft show.

our mountain home is in Colorado. Next year we will schedule several shows in the Arkansas area.  Mountain Home, The Jonquil festival, Toad Suck and any one of several in the area around War Eagle.  My wife and I are retired and use these shows to supplement our income and to travel. When we travel that far we need to schedule several shows to make it profitable (we can't do the 2500 miles every other weekend).
As new crafters you have found a great site for information and support.
Permit me to lecture. Enjoy what you do. Enjoy the people you will meet. That joy will show and people will respond to it. Then success will be yours on many levels.
If  I can help in any way contact me  Jeff  at   [email protected]
Good luck on your first show . Let us know how it turns out.

Gary,

Do you have any more info on the Mountain Home craft show this coming weekend (March 22-23)? I haven't been able to find anything about it!

I hope to make it up there (from Little Rock).
