I don't have the money to go out and buy expensive programs;
Being the cheepo that I am, I found the best way to make patterns, for free, is to use a FREE & VERY SIMPLE program called "Infranview". it can be downloaded from tucows,cnet, or any of your favorite download sites.
Be sure to also download the plugins file as well.
To make any pic into a 2 color usable pattern for hand scrolled or machine; In its menu, after opening your photo, click Image, then use the Effects Browser to play with the image till it's to your liking. If you open a pic, you can just decrease it to 2 color in the Image menu as well!
Infranview is also a great batch conversion program.
Hey, it had more features that most pay programs.
Only drawback is it doesn't select vector paths for machines.
But, if you just want to make the patterns, or open ANY kind of pic file, Infranview beats them all!!!
Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you wish to get more info, or even some pre-made patterns. I DON'T sell anything! Any patterns I give are free, and free of license.
My name is Joe!
