I have a Delta P-20 saw, I use Johnson's paste wax on the table every month or so. Just apply it with a paper towel and buff it with a soft cloth. Don't use car wax as most contain silicone which may affect the finish product you use on the wood. I would wipe the table off with mineral spirits if you have never waxed it.
We use a car pase wax (not a liquid) We all so sprayed the table with automotive paint before applying the wax. found this works good.starts to get sticky add more wax and buff should work for you tom
I strictly use Johnson's paste wax (in the can). Most car waxes have some kind of hydro-carbon that may stain your wood. Also, Johnson's wax will keep your iron tables from rusting in the most terrible weather
I was surprised when someone mentioned Johnson's paste wax to me, I hadn't seen it for years. I got at "Wally's world", on the cheap ;)
If your table is not very smooth, use a coarse diamond paste, again at Wally's World) along with 600 grit wet and dry sand paper, and rub it smooth. Dry well, then put the wax on, immediately Comes out smooth as a "what's" behind:))
