In a Woodworkers Journal EZine I received, there was an article about a recall of Ryobi Radial Arm Saws model RA200 and RA202. The article explains how to remove and package the Motor and Carriage Assembly. Ryobi will make arrangements to have it picked up. Once they receive the Assembly, they will send a check for $75. The instructions states that once the assembly is removed, we should dispose of the rest of the unit including the blade. It also states that no repair is available. See the article at
http://www.ryobi.com/recall.pdf Does that make any sense? We are to throw away a $300 saw for a check for $75? Shouldn't it be worth more than $75? Or at least have a replacement available? One thing is certain; I'm not going to purchase any more Ryobi tools!!
I would appreciate hearing any comments you have on this subject.
