Hi
I have the dw788 and for some reason I have noticed that on the up/down stroke that my blade does not track straight. I tried aligning the blade holders etc. My son is an engineer and he looked at it and it is like the top blade holder seems crooked in that long arm that comes out. Saw cuts ok, just noticed it one day when I was checking and cleaning everything. I read where you put a ruler against it and pull your blade arms up and down and it should not move the ruler. Anyone else come across this thing?
Thanks
Bill

Bill,
The problem with the front to back movement of the blade was discussed here . Maybe this discussion will help you out.
If you are cutting thicker woods or stack cutting is when it will come into play.
There will be a slight (maybe 1/64th or so) back and forth movement just because of the saw design but it should be hardly noticeable.

Bill,
If the problem is left and right all you have to do is adjust the set screws in the top and/or bottom blade holders or adjust the table tilt slightly so the blade is square with the table.

Bill,

I'm trying to understand what you're describing... and after re-reading, I think you're saying the blade holders give the blade a little twist because of the upper blade holder... is that it?
