A shop vac is fine but the problem is there are very noisy. Another problem is you will find out that the fine dust fulls the filter and them it loses suction.I use a fein, as its noise level is about 65 decibals, it also has a automatic cycle on it that starts up the scroll saw and stops when you shut it off. The filter is also no problem. You use the filter but they also use a paper bag inside and no dust plugs up the filter. I do a lot of scrolling and I just change the bag once a year. Gary
