I have owned three dremels, two sixteen inch ones, and now have an 1830. I liked all three as they are very steady, and dependable. The only hang up on the 1830 that I have found, is the light. It really doesn't work very well, but then my Dewalt doesn't even have one unless you buy it separate. There are several other options to the light, so its not a big concern for me.
