Hi Randy,
RBI's of recent vintage come with a long metal rod that attaches to the top of the stand and extend vertically to contact the bottom outside edge of the table to prevent this. Apparently this must be a chronic problem with the saws and the rod idea is an attempt to prevent shifting. You might be able to try the same thing with a length of 1/4" all thread if there is a hole available in the top of the stand that is in a convenient location.
My first RBI had the same problem occasionally, and I just tried to be careful not to put too much pressure on the table. My new one has the rod thing and I don't have a problem with it.
