A co-worker of my DH and his wife are planning on participating in the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk here in WA state in August.  We just received a letter from them yesterday asking for donations (they need to raise $2200).  The wife is a breast cancer survivor, having just gone through her treatment last year.

I want to offer them a fundraiser to help them raise money.  HOWEVER, I've only done 2 fundraisers, and neither one was super successful.  I've read through all of the info over in documents, but most of those deal with fundraisers for established groups.  How do you do a fundraiser for something like this Walk?  What's the best way to approach this couple to offer the fundraiser?  I'm really at a loss here, but I want to help these people out.

TIA!
Teresa G.

Are there other people who are doing the walk with them?  See if you can get a few cooking shows within the same week with her and her friends as a host of each one.  Submit them ALL together as one large fundraiser.  Encourage them to invite different people so the same people aren't going to 3 parties in a week.

One of the directors in my cluster did this, 7 shows in 7 days for her daughter's swim team, the total sales were over $6500 from all the shows together.

Good luck!
