hey, there! i am still here. i am supposedly 5 days overdue now. when she felt my stomach last thursday, she said i was contracting, but i didn't feel it. if by friday morn, he hasn't arrived, they will do an internal exam and external monitoring to make sure everything is ok and then talk about induction immediately if need be or sometime at the end of the next week if everything is going smoothly.

how are you guys? how far along are you now? is it getting hot? here in the east, it has gotten crazy hot all of a sudden. my stomach has been itchy and i put aloe on it a good bit.

Awww you poor thing! Well I hope you have him this week!! I've heard Pitocin is awful!

Thankfully its been nice a cool here in WA. Rainy even. I am at 35 weeks tomorrow.. so just 5 more to go! Definitely getting uncomfortable, and last night was having some contractions fairly frequently.

Yay I can't wait to see pictures!!! Good luck Ilise!!

I had Pitocin and it wasn't awful.

Good luck to you! All of it will be worth it when you see your baby for the first time!

Oh good.. I'm glad to hear that Lita. Literally everything I have been hearing about it has been negative. Glad to know that if I DO need it, hopefully I'll have your experience!

Novelise (I still want to call you MJ tho...lol.)  I was just wondering how you were doing!!  Hang in there its nearly over.

I had pitocen too, and pitocen with nothing for pain sucks...pitocen with epidural is a big thumbs up...lol.  I had pitocen drip for 13 hours before my epidural and even tho I didn't cry, I certainly hated it.  lol.

I didn't have any pain from the Pitocin - they upped it and upped it and nothing. Then that night when my water broke holy hell that hurt. Epidural for one please!

Haha is it too late to not do this? Just kidding. I'm glad that you guys had good experiences with Pitocin. That really makes me feel better. I am crossing my fingers that I won't need any, but if I do, I really hope I have the same feelings as you! My water breaking anywhere but in the hospital is my biggest fear about labor lol. It would be so embarrassing! Haha.

The good news is that if your water breaks it will most likely happen at night when you are lying down. It doesn't usually happen like the it does in the movies. lol

If I had to do it over again I would have waited one more week (I was a week late when they induced) to see if he came on his own. Avoid induction if possible. Obviously if they recommend it don't. lol

Just carry a glass bottle of apple juice with you whereever you go - if your water breaks in some pubic place - drop the apple juice - no one will know the difference!

If you've never given birth before, you won't know if induction is any worse than normal labor, so you have that going for you. lol I was induced with Jo, but they gave me something instead of pitocin. Wish I could remember what it was, and why they don't give it to everybody else, cause it was way mild.

I was 14 days past my due date with Josh and they put me in the hospital to prep me for an induction the following day.  I was upset because it was Robbie's first day of Kindergarten and I couldn't take him...

Well, I was getting contractions and I remember after 3 hours of these barely there contractions I was telling my mom that I wasn't feeling a thing, and there were mild contractions showing on the monitor but I wasn't feeling much and just as I said so a nurse ripped open the curtain and cranked up my iv.  THEN I started feeling it.  I was outpatient tho and they couldn't give me anything for pain.  Later in the early evening they were going to disconnect me from the drip and send me home....I was there for an hour without the drip and my contractions were less than 2 minutes apart and my mom refused to take me home.  I had not dilated at ALL...I wasn't even 1 after an entire day of pitocen.  Well, the doctor said I could stay because my mom was insistent that she couldn't take me home but he said there would be NO baby until tomorrow.  So I get admitted and they put me in a labor and delivery room...give me an epidural and turned my pitocen back on and I went to sleep.  2 hours later I was dilated to 10 and ready to deliver....they had to look for the doctor who was off watching a baseball game.  lol.  I think I had discomfort because I was fighting the pitocen, the minute that I couldn't feel my contractions...I started dilating.

Labor and delivery stories are a woman's version of going to war stories. lol.

I didn't get my epidural with Robbie until I was nearly 8 cm....and I never got to the point in either one of my labors that I cried or screamed or cursed anyone out.  Natural labor is more comfortable tho cause its what your body does on its own.

They almost sent me home too, and then I had Dylan three hours later. :- / I never screamed or cursed either. In fact, they had me walk laps around the maternity floor to get the dilation going, and I don't think I ever heard a single woman on the floor scream while i was there. We walked past one who was doing some bizarre moaning... she didn't even sound human. LOL the look on Mr Avidly's face was priceless.

i was screaming a bit before i got my epidural....was fine after that obviously......then they decided to turn it off when it was almost time to push because i felt no pressure and they didn't think i would give enough effort (note to self: tell them you feel pressure next time) and that was HELL....they were having me push and push and i was in PURE pain because Olivia was face up instead of face down and according to them her head kept bobbing up and down on my tail bone ......soooo anyway they kept telling me that if my daughter crowned they would call the doctor in and she would give me some local shots to ease the pain........i never understood why the doctors get paid the most when they are just there to basically catch the baby ......anyway.....my doc finally came in because i was screaming at the top of my lungs "GET THE FUCK IN HERE DR. GHANDI!!!" .....i was out of control......at one point i had my hands around my husbands throat......oh and i grabbed a nurses boob soooo hard and she was PISSED.....lol......anyway........what i found soooo fitting is that i gave birth while Jerry Springer was on tv........my mother in law would NOT take her eyes off of the tv because she told me later (she is very religious) that she felt her ears burning and was trying to pray so i wouldn't deliver the devil
