I have a very good friend I went to college with and her mom passed on June 5th at the age of 76 from liver cancer. She went very quickly but before sotold her family and attorney that her funeral arrangements had been taken care of and she was prepared. This is a lady who was very organized and "together." The family can not find any paper work which may be what she had said was there. In other words, the family had to pay for the funeral because nothing can be found. The funeral home has contacted other funeral homes also to no avail. Her home paperwork was in order, her will was in order but not paper work for the funeral.
I have had a few "flashed" for my friend, and have shared them with her, but if anyone in this group gets anything please share with me and I will pass it on. The family is having a "tug-of war."
Her name was Barbara Jean Copeland Christie (If that helps)

Deb,

I realise that this message is not new but perhaps the lady you speak of went through a funeral alternative company. I don't know if you have that in the US but we do in Canada. It's a not for profit alternative to a funeral that is not affiliated with funeral homes. It is much more economical financially than a funeral home. Sounds like by her name that she is British, and should she be a shred scottish as am I you will go the economical way!

Hope to get an update.
