Read Scriptures: Numbers 10:11-11:35
Situation: Approxiamately two year had passed since the departure of the Israelites from Egypt. During this time at Mount Sinai, God gave them the Meeting Tent, ceremonial and ritual laws and travel instructions. Then they travelled from Mount Sinai into the wilderness of Paran en route to the Promised Land. When they faced many hardships, they forgot about God's provision and protection and began to curse and complain. God punished them for their lack of faith.
Observation: We show the same lack of faith when we think we can do as much (or more) than Almighty God. Such a lack of faith shows that we really don't know how to trust God.
Application: Do you find it hard to trust God when things are going poorly? Or is it harder when things are going well because you're more self-sufficient? Consider the areas in your life where you are having a hard time trusting God right now. Pray for wisdom to trust God in that specific situation.
