What do we mean when we say the word Hate or Hatered? The dictionary defines it as the following :-
  1. (n.) To love less, relatively.
  2. (n.) To have a great aversion to, with a strong desire that evil should befall the person toward whom the feeling is directed; to dislike intensely; to detest; as, to hate one's enemies; to hate hypocrisy.
  3. (v.) Strong aversion coupled with desire that evil should befall the person toward whom the feeling is directed; as exercised toward things, intense dislike; hatred; detestation; -- opposed to love.
  4. (n.) To be very unwilling; followed by an infinitive, or a substantive clause with that; as, to hate to get into debt; to hate that anything should be wasted.

However The Bible defines Hatered like this. Is it wrong to hae? That depends on the object of our hate. We should never hate another person because every person is a unique creation of God, an eternal soul that can be redeemed. But we should certainly hate the sinful things that even our cherished love ones do. We are to love the sinner but hate the sin. Foul language, perversion, crime, waywardness, even gossip are things to hate. We must therefore ask ourselves Is it ever appropriate to hate anyone or anything? We read in Leviticus 19:17 "Do not nurse hatered in your heart for any of your relatives". In Ecclesiasties 3:8 we read "A time to love and a time to hate". And in Psalm 97:10 it says "You who love the Lord hate evil". In 1 John 3:15 we read "Anyone who hates another Christian is really a murderer at heart". But in Matthew 5:43-44 we read "You have heard that the law of Moses says, "Love you neigbour and hate your enemy, But I say love your enemies!". We are to love all people and hate all sin, When we truly love God we will hate sin. Are you drifting into a love for sinful things? This may be an indicator of a declining love for God. What causes hatered? in Galations 5:19-23 we read "When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will produce these evil results. But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce this kind of fruit in us". Hatered comes from following our own sinful deires, Instead we must allow the Holy Spirit to fill our lives, leaving no room for hatered. In Esther 5:9 we read "What a hppy man Haman was as he left the banquet! but when he saw Mordecai sitting at the gate not standing up or trembling nervously before him he was furious". Haman hated Mordecai because he refused to bow down before him. This petty jealousy a hunger for recognition, drove Haman to insane hatered that would not be satisfied until Mordecai was killed. Becareful petty jealousy can lead to hatred which can lead to violent thoughts or actions. We should also ask ourselves Why  do some people begin to hate others whom they thought they loved? We read in Judges 15:2 "I really though you hated her, her Father explained so I gave her in marriage to your best man. But look, her sister is more beautiful than she is marry her instead". Did Samson hate his wife? he certainly gave that impression to her Father , in his fury at his wife [Judges 14:19], he went home to his parents, giving the impression that he had abandoned her. This lead to bigomy, destruction  and ulimatly muder , Anger and hatered bear bitter fruits with seeds of destruction.  I hear you ask How do we let go of hatered? We read in Proverbs 15:1 " A gentle answer turns away wrath, but harsh words stir up anger". Get rid of anger, Anger leads to bitterness, which leads to hatered. In Micah 6:8 it says "This is what he requires to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God". Mercy and humility are powerful weopons against hatered. In Ephesians 4:31-32 "Get rid of all bitterness. Instead be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving  one another". Forgivness stops hatered.  In Colossians 3:18-19 " Your wives must submit to your husbands and you husbands must love your wives". Humble submission and love cast out hatered., One question though that we ask I think is Can we love God and not love Gods people? in 1 John 4:20 we read "If someone says "I love God" but hates another Christian that person is a liar, for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we have not seen?" Following Jesus may cause people to hate you. We read in John 17:14 "The World hates them because they do not belong to the world". in 1 Peter 4:14-19 "But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian". Those who love sin hate those who are against sin, If you take a stand against sin expect opposion. I will finish by saying this to you all keep on looking up to the light which is Jesus Christ and remember Jesus loves you all and has a plan for your lives. Sincerely in Christ. (Psa 23:1) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

(Psa 23:2) He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

(Psa 23:3) He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
