Today's Scripture

2 Corinthians 2:16-17
To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?
You see, we are not like the many hucksters who preach for personal profit. We preach the word of God with sincerity and with Christ’s authority, knowing that God is watching us.

Paul asks "who is adequate" for the task of representing Christ ?
Our adequacy is always from God ( 1 Corinthians 15:10 But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.  ; 2 Corinthians 3:5 It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God. ) He has already commissioned and sent us ( Matthew 28:18-20 Jesus came and told his disciples, <WOJ>“I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.</WOJ> <WOJ>Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.</WOJ> <WOJ>Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.?/FONT> ) He has given us the Holy Spirit to enable us to speak with Christ's power. He keeps His eye on us, protecting us as we work for Him. As we realize that God has equipped us, we can overcome our feelings of inadequacy. Serving Christ, therefore, requires that we focus on what He can do through us, not on what we can't do by ourselves.

Lord, we are so grateful that You want to use us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others. Help us to tell others of all You've done for us, and through us.Help us to boldly tell of how You've changed us and made us whole by Your Truth. Thank You for your grace, mercy, faithfulness, and love. We honor You Lord Jesus, and we Lift Your Name on High.
In Jesus' Precious and Holy Name, Amen...

Have a wonderful weekend friends.
Love in Him,
April
