2 Pet 3:7 But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been stored up (reserved) for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly people.
2 Pet 3:8 Nevertheless, do not let this one fact escape you, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.
2 Pet 3:9 The Lord does not delay {and} is not tardy {or} slow about what He promises, according to some people's conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance.
2 Pet 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will vanish (pass away) with a thunderous crash, and the [material] elements [of the universe] will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.
2 Pet 3:11 Since all these things are thus in the process of being dissolved, what kind of person ought [each of] you to be [in the meanwhile] in consecrated {and} holy behavior and devout {and} godly qualities,
Once in a small airplane, I saw a level of something in the sky. The pilot said it was gasses and pollution floating there. I thought of this scripture and thought to myself; that is how the heavens will burn some day very soon. God is not a stranger to what "man" would do to what HE created. He has given us many signs to tell us, today is the day of salvation. Everything will be burned up, everything will be shaken and nothing in the Heavens or earth will remain untouched by His hand in that day. IF HIS word is true that one thousand years to us is only one day to HIM, then ponder this. His word says He will return in a day, a day and a half which would mean two thousand years to us or two and a half thousand years which is right now where we are living. I am a simple uneducated woman but I believe we need to be standing firm in the rock so that when all things are shaken and only that which can not be shaken will remain, we better be ready to leave when He comes like a thief in the night when we least expect Him....be ready or get ready amen?
