Acts 4:11 This [Jesus] is the Stone which was despised {and} rejected by you, the builders, but which has become the Head of the corner [the Cornerstone].
Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in {and} through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by {and} in which we must be saved.
Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness {and} unfettered eloquence of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned {and} untrained in the schools [common men with no educational advantages], they marveled; and they recognized that they had been with Jesus.
A stop sign is a simple bright colored way of saying ... you have no choice here. What about the "simple" word of God above that instructs us the fact of Jesus being the only way to the father? When I was only ten a elderly Dentist sent my sister and I to Bible camp. Up until that old age, I prayed: "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, if I should die before I wake???? I pray the Lord my soul to take."..( and then I would lay there wide awake thinking I might die in the middle of the night. My understanding was simple, but I did say my "night prayers." Then during a service at Bible camp that summer I saw a banner over the top of the man preaching. It was a green banner with gold letters that said: "No man cometh unto the father but by me." As I sat there during the service, I realized the awesome truth of Jesus on the cross, His blood and death experience "was" to take me to the father. He wanted me to go to the father through Him. My own father had left me at age three and I could not trust the one I had at that time, so this truth God decided to show me at a young age. With my family being Catholic drumming it in my head that I was not going to go to Heaven if I died, a riddle came to my child like brain. It was this: "
Mary is dead and asleep in her grave, she can not pray nor can she save." All through life this never escaped me sort of like the riddles we read about in Samson's life. How complicated our religious education and programs of purpose driven administrative plans of man... can be, when the word of God should have been enough. Remember there are consequences of "not" stopping at a stop sign, and it is the same if you believe there is any gray area to walk in regarding Jesus being the "only" way to the Father.
Keep it simple, or every building you build in life will not have the chief cornerstone; Jesus Christ; the Lord of glory and soon coming king.
