And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh [unto me], and with their mouth and with their lips to honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught [them]; therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Super bowl attracted many to attend the annual prayer breakfast with a famous coach to speak on how his son had taken his life but he knew he was in heaven. No one knows where the boy would spend eternity but grief is dealt with sometimes in different ways. They boasted of this great opportunity they had in a "non-evasive" approach to sharing about God in this manner. God vomits out non-evasive people who are all about trying to sugar coat what God says to be pleasing to men. They wear Christ when it suits them and I am not judging now about the men attending the breakfast. The words non-evasive were what came up in my spirit when I read this verse, and how the announcer termed the reason for the breakfast was not too offend anyone.

God is not interested in the pride of man and all he has done. God is looking for a people who die to their own agenda, humble their lives and break their hearts just as God's heart was broken when He had to turn His head away when Jesus took on Himself the sins of the world. We need evasive tactics to permeate all we say, do and live out in this evil world about to be destroyed by fire. You are either hot or cold for Jesus; either embarrassed or bold, either non-evasive or persistant. He will vomit anyone out of His mouth and burn up every dead work so we had better be found with our hearts open, broken, and what the Holy Spirit ministered to me was this: They have not sought God with all their hearts, all their soul, all their mind, all their strength, and have a outward appearance of religion but reject my words and   with their lips they seek to honor me; outwardly for the praise of men, but have removed their heart far from me, and they will reap the fruit of their doing on that day.

Clay is either hardened by the sun or softened by the sun. God is the potter and we are the clay and His glory He will not share with the pride of man. Draw near to God with your heart and not just giving Him the lip service you think He is impressed with.
