John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give {and} bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]
John 14:28 You heard Me tell you, I am going away and I am coming [back] to you. If you [really] loved Me, you would have been glad, because I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater {and} mightier than I am.
John 14:29 And now I have told you [this] before it occurs, so that when it does take place you may believe {and} have faith in {and} rely on Me.
On grave stones we often read: "rest in peace." We are to do that in our lives on earth. The opposite of peace is the stress you see most people living in today. Rushing to and fro constantly getting upset over little things; losing their ability to have rest in their soul.
The secret to living "in" that peaceful rest the Bible says in Hebrews we are to enter into, is to have complete surrender of your existance to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Instructions for our lives can be seen also in Psalm 37 and in Mathew 6 and Luke 12. Jesus said, my peace is not like the world and this peace guards your heart and mind in the evil day we live in. Wonderful peace is our blessed assurance of every day resting in our father's care. Rest in His peace here while you are alive.
