Luke 5:15 But so much the more the news spread abroad concerning Him, and great crowds kept coming together to hear [Him] and to be healed by Him of their infirmities.
Luke 5:16 But He Himself withdrew [in retirement] to the wilderness (desert) and prayed.
Luke 5:17 One of those days, as He was teaching, there were Pharisees and teachers of the Law sitting by, who had come from every village {and} town of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was [present] with Him to heal {them}.
Luke 5:18 And behold, some men were bringing on a stretcher a man who was paralyzed, and they tried to carry him in and lay him before [Jesus].
Luke 5:19 But finding no way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him with his stretcher through the tiles into the midst, in front of Jesus.
Luke 5:20 And when Jesus saw [their confidence in Him, springing from] their faith, He said, Man, your sins are forgiven you!
It would seem from reading this above scripture that "sins" being forgiven was more important or first with Jesus then for the actual physical healing of the body. In most things in life, they have to be manifested in the spirit man before we see them in the natural. These men showed great faith and determination to climb up and go through the roof to bring the man to Jesus to be healed. When Jesus sees our faith, then the power of the Lord is here to forgive our sins, heal us, restore the joy of our salvation. Many people followed after Jesus in that day for their "food" and for what they saw HE could do for them. Which is harder for Jesus to do right now in your life? Is it a matter of your faith? Whose report then do you believe?
