But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1 Timothy 6:11-14 NIV
There are many places in the Bible telling us "how" we should be. There are also verses Paul wrote to us describing how people would be in the last days. Somehow, if you are trying to reach a lost world instead of enjoying your safe trip to Heaven, you should be adjusting as Paul did your judging ways in order to reach those who just may not be "how" you are. I get excited if I see a few goth teens sitting in a park the Lord has put in my path, or did you think those you pass by are not in your path for a reason? "How" you look at them? How you speak and walk away? Study "how" you should be. The Bible says we are to be shrewd as snakes and gentle as doves. Jesus called a snake a snake and it makes me so sick inside to see religious people who know the scriptures not even able to converse without questioning and talking out of their logic, reasoning and understanding. They don't listen to anyone explain about their life, their feelings or beliefs. While you listen, you study their words to see if the Holy Spirit reveals something to share and if He does not, you just show them love not your judging. I heard a Pastor last year say he was really nervous to go door to door and share Christ, and he spoke as if he had no knowledge of sharing with the public, like it was a suprise or scary. Where are we to go with the gospel when we are the only light in the last days those who have been led by doctrines of devils are walking. There are many whose walk and "how" they live, have no clue they are in darkness. Will "how" you "go out" keep them from being left behind? In many churches Jesus has "left the building." Oh there is a service there but Christ and His Spirit have departed leaving them to perform their form of religion with teachers who teach what the people want to hear or they are asked to leave. Jesus is coming soon, and yes the scripture tells us "how" we should be, but "how" is to study "how" people out there are and what they believe, and to listen and not speak unless Christ Jesus by His Spirit gives you a word of life for each one. In this evil day, compassion really is "how" you should be.
