Col 3:15 And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ's] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].
Col 3:16 Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] {and} dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish {and} train one another in all insight {and} intelligence {and} wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts.
Col 3:17 And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus {and} in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.
Col 3:18 Wives, be subject to your husbands [subordinate and adapt yourselves to them], as is right {and} fitting {and} your proper duty in the Lord.

Did you notice which verse goes before the one about wives being in subjection to their covering, (husband?) In this world you will have many troubles but Jesus has given you HIS peace to guard your heart and mind as the world spins faster toward it's destruction. You will notice less and less "peace" on this earth as people rush here and there getting sucked into the ways of this world. More than ever, women are not adapting but becomming more demanding, more aggressive and less apt to even want to nurture a child let alone their husbands in which they are not marrying because they do not want to be legally bound to anyone. If you interview young girls maybe one in ten will say she wants a child but not to get married some day. There is a movement now in schools which by the way have nurseries in them, to have parenting classes to teach nurturing to both sexes. The circumstances of marriage have indeed changed but certainly must grieve God when homosexuality is accepted in our country. What is a civilized life now in our country where a home owner goes to jail for refusing to rent it to gay couples? Peace, being thankful, praising God, and letting HIS word dwell richly in us while we sing making melody in our hearts, is how we need be in the last days. Not too many people really are focusing on duty and adapting or respect to anyone ; but instead are out to control, and think of respecting or honoring as kissing up to people. When we line up our lives to the word of God, we can have victory past this world we are "in."
