Topic: +DEV+ God Is Just
God Is Just
Scripture Focus: Isaiah 9:6-7
"Your arm is endued with power; your hand is strong, your right
hand exalted. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of our
throne; love and faithfulness go before you" (Psalm
89:13-14).
Children shout it. Adults think it. "It isn't fair!" God
created us with heaven in our hearts. In other words, we all long for
a place where there is no injustice or inequality. There is such a
place, and we can live there eternally. Until then, we will suffer the
consequences of sin: ours or another's.
Let us praise God for His justice. Jesus, the Light, reveals every
sinful thought, word, and action. Jesus, the Judge, condemns each
sinner. Then the Judge steps down and takes the punishment we sinners
deserve. By placing our faith in His gift to us, we are made free from
condemnation. We are free from sin and its consequences. We are
justified.
This is an awesome plan! God's holiness and justice remain intact. His
love reigns.
One day God will make everything right. The wicked will no longer
prosper. No more will lies and misunderstandings harm people. Truth
will triumph. Everything will be fair!
Insight: God is
impartial to positions and possessions. He treats everyone equally and
offers salvation to all.
