Stand By Me       Stand by me, Lord.  Don't let me fall.   Help me to stand up, strong and tall.   Cause my light to shine, so others will see   My Jesus living and working in me.       Stand by me, Lord.  Cause me to stand straight.   Help me lead others through that narrow gate.   Make me a servant to those in need.   For the lost souls, Lord, my heart does bleed.       Stand by me, Lord.  Never go away.   I need you beside me, both night and day.   I know I'm not perfect.  Someday, I will be.   But, I can't go wrong, Lord, if you stand by me.       Make me a light, Lord.  Cause me to shine   So others will see you, all the time.   Make me a light, Lord.  Make me to shine.   Help me to help others, both day and night.           © 2004 by Shirley Jean Harwood
