Before A Petition Ever Rolls From Our Tongues
There are times when we come into the presence of God
with the purpose and intention of prayer.
But we find ourselves speechless...in awe of His wonder
at what He shows us when we meet Him there.
For He leans ever closer & we sense the reality
of this Holy God in whom we must speak.
And there He is in His grandeur...letting us know Him
when we surrender, pursue Him & seek.
It's as if He draws us near Him, but He wants to surprise us
before a petition ever rolls from our tongues.
And the beauty of His holiness, radiance and might
leaves us kneeling because of all He has done.
Then worship...pure worship is all we can do
because the moment belongs unto Him alone.
And the glory He deserves become the words from our mouths
rising up to the foot of His throne.
While we're faced with the truth that we are unworthy
we know He desires & delights in our praise.
So we lift up our hands to the majesty and beauty
of our Redeemer who authored our days.
Then we walk away without asking for a thing
but all He shows us leaves us whole and restored.
Because all our needs are met when we weep in His presence
and we know Him as Savior and Lord.

Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
The God of glory thunders;
The LORD is over many waters.
The voice of the LORD is powerful;
The voice of the LORD is full of majesty;
The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars,
Yes, the LORD splinters the cedars of Lebanon.
He makes them also skip like a calf,
Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the LORD divides the flames of fire.
The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness;
The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth,
And strips the forests bare;
And in His temple everyone says, "Glory!"
The LORD sat enthroned at the Flood,
And the LORD sits as King forever.
The LORD will give strength to His people;
The LORD will bless His people with peace.
Psalm 29
