May 9, 2007 "The Church of China is rising up! The Lord has answered your prayer!" -Sister Debra, a church leader and long-time Open Doors Bible distributor Dear Sandra, Sister Debra shares her mission, her hopes and dreams, and the role of Open Doors, as the Chinese church tranistions from one that receives aid and foreign missionaries, to one that sends them! "The Chinese house church has 80 million believers. China’s revival cannot be separated from Open Doors Bible distribution ministry. You are the Chinese house church’s biggest Bible and literature provider and have reached out to us since the 1970s. Please accept our grateful hearts for your prayer and support. "Now we are reaching out and becoming missionaries. We opened a two-year missions-training school here four years ago. We have six graduates outside the country already, five who are preparing to leave shortly, and 11 others who hope to go to the Muslim world or Europe. "We must look beyond our local churches to changing China and the rest of the world, because we, too, are the Kingdom’s representatives. And our culture will not accept our religion if we are righteous yet do not help society. There is still persecution toward the church in China, but is a good thing; [otherwise] the church leaders?would become complacent, and we need to be constantly renewed to be effective." Please pray: - That the Chinese Church will be strengthened and that more Chinese Christians will be trained and sent out on mission to the rest of the world. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12
- For economic and political stability in China, because only under these conditions will Chinese Christians be able to support the missions of the Chinese Church. Ephesians 3:20-21
