I'm back & pulling out my hair today yet smiling all the while
I brought home a beautiful green-cheek conure quite awhile back & she(?) is just out of quarantine.
Ever since Jo-Jo(GCC) came out yesterday, Kyra has been a true putz!  She's back to not wanting to come out of her cage & actually hissed at me & tried to bite.
Is this a jealousy thing?  She has no interest in Jo-Jo but she will holler back & forth.   It makes me afraid for the Jo-Jo since she has not one iota of fear of the other birds.  Guess no one ever told her she isn't a Macaw
Any suggestions to help Kyra adjust or am I just out of luck?  She's so stuck to me like velcro when I'm home that it's not funny & it makes me think she's jealous(not sure how stupid that sounds).
  Thanks so much,
Karla B.

Yep sounds like jealously has reared it's ugly head! Take the established birds in the houde hold out first and play with them then your new bbaby. Feed the birds that have been there the longest and so on. After time they all do get used to each other. Nan

Thanks Nan!  Kyra has definitely forgiven me now, although occasionally she is ornery when I first come home but she warms up quickly.
Is it possible for the 2 ever to be out together?  JoJo(the green cheek) seems so interested in Kyra, but she hisses & snaps at him when he lands by her cage so I'm afraid to let them both out at the same time.
I wonder if there is a good way to "introduce" them to each other.
 Thanks again!
Karla B.
