I also have a Quaker parrot, named Pee Wee. He seems to like other birds, and he is 5 yrs. old. After your baby Quaker is weaned, at about 6 or 7 wks. of age, i would introduce them to one another, and see how they react. I would do this at least once or twice a day, if they seem to get along. Usually, Quakers are very territorial of their cage homes, & toys. Make sure their visits with one another is supervised by a family member. Quakers can be very agressive with humans, especially, when molting. I don,t know how they are with one another when molting, as i only have one Quaker. I have seen several Quakers in cages together, in pet stores, and they seem to get along fine. Good luck with your babies! Sunshine & Pee Wee |

Hi there! I now have three quakers, but way back when I just had Pippin and was worrying over introducing a little quaker buddy to him. What I did was to get one of my travel cages and set it up all nice for them to be introduced in, that way there were no issues over it being "Pippin's cage". Since Periwinkle was a baby he'd basically let Pippin boss him around so there also wasn't an issue with them being overly aggressive with each other. The problem I did run into eventually though, was that though Pippin still loved us more tha any other bird or human, Peri had bonded to Pippin and just kind of liked us. Looking back I think I definitely would have spent more individual time with Peri away from Pippin, but hindsight is always 20/20 right? Good luck to you and I hope my experiences will be of some help. Always, Silverbutterfly |
