Howard Stern got canned this morning, and the local morning show that I listened to got taken off the air (CaliEd... It's the Kevin & Bean show on KROQ).  Both shows belong to Inifinity Broadcasting.

The FCC sucks!  I

Speedy, I also am a big Howard stern radio guy and have listened for a very long time. If the FCC is worried about radio then TV is screwed.
I am so sick of the FCC trying to make examples of stern and others who make radio extertaining. If other dont like stern then just dont listen. Enough of this crap! scott

It IS April 1st! And these guys have to top each other year after year.

Last year's, if I remember right, was the lame "sports report" where Money lied about every single story. Most of the stories sounded far-fetched, but I still didn't realize it until he came on later to explain. That was the one where he talked about the WNBA folding in 2 weeks.
Rather than allowing that to happen, they got my hopes up for nothing!

I wonder, now, if the whole thing with "Ralph's Sex U" being cancelled because of "FCC sensitivity" was an elaborate set up for this day. If so, that's good! (And it means his show will be back! Wondering how they could just jettison such a popular segment like that one?)

I hope these are all jokes, or this country IS going down the toilet!

I figured the Howard deal was a joke, that guy pulls in so much money, there's no way Infinity would dump him.

No Lee... I caught myself!    LOL!

Cali Ed...
The "Sex U" was probably a set up too, as well as the "letter to your congressman" thing.

Well... wouldn't be funny if Tom Leykis is gone from this afternoon as well?  He's on Infinity Broadcasting too.  Actually, that wouldn't be funny at all... he's the best thing the on radio, regardless of what Kevin & Bean and Ralph say.

lol No, honestly it was on Regis and Kelly this morning that it was an April Fools joke.. said that they got tons of complaints and that they had to let everyone in on it.. actually Howard was the one that came up with the idea...

Speedy and I were more concerned about local L.A. morning guys Kevin and Bean, who've been top 5 in L.A. morning radio for years.
The same type of announcement as occurred on Stern's show happened on their show today. Their FCC complaints have been going on since the Janet Jackson debacle, and one of their most popular segments (a bit called "Ralph Sex U" with one of their "crew") was pulled off the air a few weeks back "because of the FCC concerns." They've even had people coming on the air from the ACLU and "anti-FCC" sites to complain about the FCC's proposals.
Come today, and they've got the evening guy doing the morning show. And their information has been taken off the station Web site. If this is a hoax, it's an elaborate one. If it's legit...

OMG.. sorry to hear that Ed.. I knew of Howard Stern being a joke, but was not aware what was going on in your town.. due to wonderful MSN I get mail when they decide to send.. usually hrs later or possibly days.. so I was only seeing about Howard Stern... You would think that there are other things more important for them to worry about.. I am not a big fan of Howard Stern, but I just don't listen to him..  It seems we are worried about going and freeing others to get their freedom, but ours is slowly getting taken away from us..I hate to ask the question.. whats next??

We have Bob and Tom here in Iowa...they better not take them off or I will never have to listen to the radio again. When they are on is the only time that my car stereo is NOT playing a cd.
