Today marks the 3rd year since I lost my precious wife and these are just some things that we wrote about her.

The Battle Is Over

1 Corinthians 15:55-- “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory??/FONT>

015:057-- “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.?

I believe that it was the apostle Paul that wrote the saying above. I believe with all my heart that my wife can testify to the same thing. I believe that she had victory over the grave, even though she had to die a natural life. It is something that we all are going to have to do unless the Lord comes before we die. The Bible says it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. I believe that my wife is able to quote the above Scripture and the reason that she can is because she had a friend about 2000 years ago whose name was Jesus, that conquered the grave for her. He conquered it for her and also for all.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that who so ever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.?(So we can see from this that she is not dead but that she has life and that she has it more abundantly.)

As I was thinking what I was going to put in this to the community, I began to think of what a mighty soldier my wife had become. The Scripture over in Joel 2:4 came to my mind.

002:004 -- “The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run?( You see that my wife was a good foot soldier and she can run with the horsemen, and I would go to war and to battle with her any day. I would not be afraid to let her lead the way.)

Here was a woman that faced the dreaded disease of cancer and looked it straight in the eye and said Praise the Lord. One day as we went in to see the doctor to get some results from some tests, he looked at her and said I am so sorry that we have found cancer in one rib. She looked him straight in the eye and said Praise The Lord, he brought me here with one rib and if he wants to he can take me out with one rib.

Here was a woman that would give you the shirt off her back. To prove this let me share something that happened one day in the office where we went. There were several people in the treatment room when they were at and one said to my wife I really like that blouse that you have on, and my wife took it off and gave it to her. There was also another lady in the room and she said that I would say that I like the other stuff that you have on but I would be afraid that you would walk out of here naked.

As I was thinking about this I began to think how that some people have all of the knowledge of the scriptures and there are men that have great ministries and have all the knowledge of the word. But I believe that my wife had one of the great ministries that I have ever seen. She had very little knowledge of the word of God because you see my wife was not able to read. Not many people ever knew this and I would not be sharing this with you now if she was still living. The only knowledge of the word is what I tried to explain to her. You just had to be around my wife just a few minutes and you can see and feel the great love that she had for God and everyone around her.

But as Paul was saying in 1 Corinthians 13:2- “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing? This woman did not have all these gifts but I know that she had faith that would remove mountains and she had the greatest gift of all and that was love. The Bible says if you have faith as a mustard seed you can move mountains and this she did.

Never have I ever seen as much faith as she had. My prayer is Lord give me this kind of faith. The Bible says if you have the faith of a mustard seed you can move mountains. She had the faith to move mountains and I am not sure if I could even move the mustard seed compared to the faith that she had.

She was not able to speak to anyone or to say anything 3 or 4 days before she left departed this world, but as she was dying she was able to raise her hand just before she died and said Praise the Lord and I love you Jesus. The Lord allowed her to tell every member of the family that she loved them. She told me that she knew that she was dying and the thing that she hated most was leaving her family. This woman had love for everybody and you could tell it from the people that came to the funeral home and to the funeral. People were lined up to sign the register from inside the funeral home to the outside. The sanctuary at the funeral home was also full.

Here was a woman just two weeks before her death was asked this question. The question was to describe a time in your life when God led you in an unusual way? Her answer to this question was “now going through this cancer I guess it has been the most unusual time. Its been and experience that truly has been a blessing?( how many people can you say that you have heard say that cancer has been a blessing) “she said through my illness I’ve been able to witness to others about my God.?/FONT>

I would like to thank God for her being my wife of 38 long years we have had some hard times and some good times. I guess that having to watch her die has been the hardest thing that I have ever experienced, but with the help of God we can make it through this thing. I hope to one day be able to be with her again. She had won the battle she has got the victory but I still have to stay in the battle. And I can win the battle if I keep the faith as she did.

I believe that she can say as Paul did I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: As I said before this woman had more faith that anyone that I have ever seen.

I would like to thank each and everyone of you for the prayers that was sent up for her, me and also for my family. May God Bless each and every one.

Larry

Your mother is your friend, and she will be till the end, there’s not a day that she does not think of you.

She grieves when you are sad, rejoices when you’re glad, you know your mother cares for you.

Don’t wound her tender heart, don’t cause her tears to start, and don’t neglect her for your friends you knew.

Though she be old and gray, care for her everyday, you know your mother always cares for you.

The Bible says to give honor, to whom honor is due. I would like to say I thank God for allowing me to have my mother for most of my life. I never knew what it was to be without a mother until two days ago. When you lose your mother you have lost your best friend.

There are some that have to go to through life without a mother. Some have lost their mothers at a very young age. Some had mothers that even though they were still living were no mothers at all, only in name, never showing any love to their children. I think God that I had a very godly mother. There are some that never had a chance, their mothers aborted them from the womb. Even thou my mother is not living, I still have precious members of her.

Whenever I get to feeling a little lonely and miss my mama, I have to remember that she is still hear in my memories.

All I have to do is look out of the window if I want see her, she is the sunshine, always smiling, the wind, going in all different directions to make everyone happy, a tree, strong and stout, a flower, she always smelled so sweet, the grass, soft, waiting to hold you if you needed to be held.

You see that my mother will always live in my heart, all I have to do is to lookout the window and she is there. May God bless all mothers to be godly mothers and to bring their children up in a godly home. Mothers, remember you have a great responsibility. Precious memories, oh how they linger.

Mama, I love you. Wayne

To Mama from Sherry-I Love You

Mom, You Are My Life,

You are my sunshine in the morning,

You are my stars at night.

I know now when I look up at night,

You will be that Star that lights the night,

I’ll be with you again,

I don’t know when,

But you live in my heart until the end.

No one will ever take those pressures memories, those hugs and kisses and those I love you to. No one will miss you as much as I do,

Mamma, I could never have asked for a more perfect mom,

Because I have had one all of my life.

Oh, if I can take back all the bad things, I have said and done,

If I could have taken that pain and put it in me I would have, but that I can’t do,

But I’ll promise you,

That I will meet you in the Heaven that is so blue.

We will walk those streets of gold,

Where we will never grow old,

Oh, I just can’t wait to see Heaven above,

But Mama, I know that’s where you are looking down on your children with all your love.

As you look down upon me,

Hold me in your arms, as if I was a baby again,

Mamma, I’ll miss you so much, and I promise you that Daddy will be well taken care of,

But no one will be able to please him as you once did with your great love.

Mamma, I never knew how much that I would ache and hurt when this time came,

I always hoped it would never come, I always knew that you were just a phone call away,

But now that God has made his call to you,

I know that that you won’t be a phone call a way.

Oh, Mamma the hurt and the ache will never go away,

Because my precious beautiful mom has gone away,

But until we meet again,

Hold my hand along the hard way.

Because Mama I don’t know how we will go on without you,

God will watch over us and you be in no more pain,

But letting go is the hardest thing,

So until we meet again,

I will show you everyday that I cherish the World’s Greatest Mom till the end.

I Love You

Granny Bray,

I wanted to take a few minutes and tell you that you mean so much to me. Whether you realize it or not, you have touched my life in so many ways. You are a Godly woman that I admire more than anything in this world.

Through your daily activities, you have taught me so much. You have opened my eyes and let me see that when I think I can no longer hold on, fight for something, or keep going, that If I keep my eyes on God and trust in God that I can go on.

They say everything happens for a reason and that may be true, but you're the last person on the face of this earth that deserves to hurt and go through the constant struggle you have to go through.

You have held on for so long and I admire you for that. I am so sorry that I don't come around much, but it breaks my heart to see you in so much pain knowing there is NOTHING I can do to help you except pray. I love you so much.

With you being sick it has really opened my eyes and I think the rest of the families eyes and to let us see that we are not promised tomorrow and that we should let the people in our life that means the most to us know just how much they do mean to us, so I want you to know that you are a great inspiration in my life and that I love you so much.

Not a day goes by that I don't lift your name up in prayer. Not only are You a great grandmother, but you are also a great friend. Thank you for everything and I love you.

Love, I love you

~Natalie~~~ Your granddaughter

In Memory Of

Jerrie Francie Bray

Jan. 20,1944 June 18, 2002

It’s been 3 years since I’ve seen your smiling face,

But now you are in God’s special place.

I know your smile will never fade,

For I see it In the children that we made

I miss you more than you will ever know,

But God knew It was time for you to go,

You taught me so much in life,

And I am proud to say; that you were my wife

In death you taught me something more,

How to appreciate life much more than before

I will always have your love in my heart

For not even death will keep us apart.

I love and miss you

Your husband Larry

Thank you , dear friend, for posting this picture of my dearest friend.  That is very sweet of you to 'remember' her this way.

I miss my dear friend also, very much.  How I would love to see her glowing face, aglow with her great love for God.  She was the most 'saintly' person I knew.

An empty spot will always be in my life because of her precious fellowship missing from my life.

Your friend,
Jo
