I would expect that 3-nitrophthalic acid is the limiting reactant and therefore the theoretical yield would be based on it, but to be sure, you should calculate the moles of each reactant and, based on the balanced chemical reactions, check which reactant gives the lowest number of moles of product (luminol). If the coefficients of the balanced reactions are all one, then the reactant in the least number of moles is the limiting reactant. Steve |
