This is my low carb journal..i am a t-2 i went to the new dr with my food journal and he took out a red pen and circled all the foods i love and said NO! you can not have these...LOL even when i switch to complex carbs i spike to the moon..so for now its going to be a atkins/south beach low carb food intake..
 
the hardest thing for me...i have been eating two piece of toast for breakfast for last 35 years slamed down with a big cup o java..
 
to actually replace those toast with cottage cheese, eggs, meat..ewwwwwwwww is going to be a challange..
 
and can i be honest...
we are in a depression/recession
we all look at the price tags in the store
what is the cheapest food there is
 
carbs..pasta beans rice..
and the ones you have to rob a bank to buy
 
MEAT.. rib eye steak has gone from $5.99
to $9.99 to $ll.99 a pound in our kroger store
 
lunch meats seem to still be low but at $5.99 a pound for a small pkg of boiled ham,,
you really have to learn to go camp out in
the produce isle and live for raw veggies
to survive..
 
back to topic..low carb.... today all i want to do is eat bread..my last day..honest ..yes..bad food choice..yes.. but tomorrow i am waking up to low carb.. high protien.. raw fruits..lots of raw veggies.. and a food log chart the dr gave me that he wants to see in two months..
 
hopefully i will learn to eat more fish....
and chicken and not miss the bread, cereal,
crackers, chips, (yep i am a carb junkee)
 
also i am blowing the dust off my rowing machine and bringing it indoors ( our az temps for today and tomorrow 105-107 ) YIPES..
will be working out to richard simmons dvd for silver haired foxes =giggle=
 
its a whole new world out there
i am excited to be learning to exercise more
eat more healthy and look at food as fuel
but honestly ..today i just want my last
slice of toast..  =sigh=

well i forgot where this journal was so here i am 10 days later..gezzz louise...
 
today i cooked a pot of spicy vegtable cabbage  soup..i need something low carb and its full of cabbage, carrots, celery, pepperoni, chicken bits..ect ect.. but no pasta no rice , ...
 
i found some Carnation sugar free
 instant breakfast to drink in the morning..
if i can no longer have toast..well id rather just drink something to
coat my stomach for the 3 Rxs to sit on LOL..
 
right now i am eating for fuel only.. taste is not an option..
 
and soon with the high heat of az i will only want ice tea and
some raw veggies or cold fruit..  i can not eat hot hot food
in the summertime..
 
food log is still going..
my only complaint..
i bought some frozen burgers and found out they had soy in them
do the food plants think we are stupid and will not notice the
bland taste..
 
still grumpy over smaller portions and higher prices in grocery store..
 
they really messed things up with the ethanol farmers and corn..
 
( wishing it was 1959 all over again --things made sense then)

having a great time working out in my home gym in the garage  hubby has "man cave" in den..i have "ladies gym" in garage LOL..
rowing machine  50 pull backs, gazelle glider 220 reps, step bench  45 steps ( my knees are screaming mad on this one ) free wts..nice and slow stretches
will prob add dvd work outs somewhere in there..
yard work twice a week cutting grass..
taking care of furry doggy yard..
we have 5 wild hawks in the tree next to our home
they are beautiful..
 
food set back..tried to eat mexican food..been eating it for over 36 years ...my stomach says no way to anything hot n spiced up..
 
crossing off  mexican food, meat sauce, italian food with tomato sauce ( lots of acid based foods dont agree with me any more )
 
switching to scrambled eggs and cottage cheese..
 
thank goodnes for pink pepto LOL
