I'm gonna ask a stupid question... now I know some of you sweet ladies will say the only stupid question is the one unasked... but here goes.
I don't even know that I am or not. But I'm experiencing symptoms of pregnancy. I'm late. I go for a test later this week. But here goes. I'm type two. I have great a1c's. My gyn and my endo have been encouraging me to get pregnant now if I'm gonna do it. So it would be good. I'm not so sure. Personal reasons. Anyway, My sugars are up down and all over and suddenly. I've been the sort of person that has been pretty continually controlled. The glucophage has been a great drug to control me over the year. And I know with pcos, sometimes that's all I might need to get me ovulating. I also have endometriosis, and just had a lap a few months ago to get that knocked down. What did your diabetes do during your first few weeks? I have nausea a lot because of GERD, so I can't go by that. My breasts have been killing me for about a week. I haven't had a period since March (common with Pcos). So it's hard to go by that. I feel full. I don't know. I"m moody.
Any suggestions? I've done hpt and they've come up both positive and negatives. I'm gonna assume i got some that were more sensitive and some that weren't?

Teri, I can't answer your question ( no it's not a stupid one at all ) hopefully someone else can. I just wanted to say hi and hope you can find some answers. If you are pregnant that may help get rid of the endometriosis,so I've heard anyway. Hugs, MaryB |

I don't know much about Type 2, Teri, but I have heard that you shouldn't take glucophage if you are prgnant. Let me if I am wrong on this, everyone, but I seem to remember hearing this. So it might be best to find out if you are pregnant and get the right medical advice on this. Julie |

Hi Teri, I can't answer that question either. My diabetes appeared long after I had my kids. My daughter in law had endometriosis and after she had her first child it apparently went away. I know that nausea, vomiting and a general feeling of not being well occurs with some pregnancies. heartburn is very common also. if it were me, I would probably go ahead and "act" like I was pregnant and plan meals accordingly until I knew for sure. One thing bothers me is the metformin. I always thought you couldn't take that if you were pregnant. I hope your doc can sort it out for you. voni |

Terilyn So great to see you posting, hon. Hope all is well with you! After what you went through last month (or so...) I wouldn't be suprised if you were skipping periods and feeling "full." If you are trying to become pregnant, as Voni said, it would be best to assume you are, for now, and treat your health accordingly. Discuss with your doctor how he wants you to treat your glucose, as tight control becomes even more crucial during pregnancy. The early symptoms of pregnancy are so vague, that only a blood test can tell you one way or the other (not sure how the urine might be affected in a diabetic). I hope and pray that you get the results you want. sheryl |

Hi well I hope it turns out that you are pregnant! YEAH more babies! Sore boobs, yup remember it well. First thing that will happen if you are is that you'll be put on insulin because youcan't take metphormin while pregant. This will give you better control of your BS's as you get bigger , and you will. Another thing is that you will probably have larger than normal babies (WOO HOO :P). My first was 6 1/2 weeks early and was 9 lbs 1 oz and was 22 inches long and my youngest was....(get ready) 11 lbs 6 oz and 23 inches long! THe doctor thought I was nuts when I told him how big I thought she would be ( I had guess 11 lbs 10 oz and 23 inches- LOL). |

Hi! Haven't been on here much. Wish I would have found this sight before I had my baby but I just thought I'd try answering your question on what happened with my diabetes when I was pregant. I am type 1 and my baby is almost 10 months old. My diabetes was all wierd when I was pregnant. In the beginning I had a lot of lows and was really, really moody off the bat......and all the way thru. Then I started getting highs like crazy until the end I was taking 45 units of Humalog a meal. Crazy! And it still wouldn't stop me from getting 4 am highs. Then after I had her I was breastfeeding and couldn't stop myself from going low. I was suddenly taking less then 7 units of humalog for meals. hope this helps, e |
