I have been having a really hard time coping the past month or so.  I would love to go somewhere in the South Pacific.  I have had no vacation since 6-'92 when my daughter was shot through the face by her fiance'.  She was never suppose to wake up but she surprised everyone.  We have no family support up here in Alaska.  I got my asso. of arts about a month before she was shot.  Tell me about your selves--PLEASE.

Hello everyone. I am 49 years old, a twin , the mother of two grown children. I have a neurological movement disorder called torsion dystonia. I also have an implanted pump which helps greatly with my continual muscle spasms and chronic pain. I was assulted by a "Monster" of a man which is why I have torsion dystonia. Rape sometimes ends in serious ways. I am generally very happy and involved as much as I can be in LIFE. I hope to meet you all  soon. Chris

Hey, I'm Tracey married to a wonderful man by the name of Brian and we have a precious 3 year old daughter named Shelby Lynn. We reside in Waynesboro,GA. My days are filled with joyous moments spent with Shelby. My husband and little girl are my life. I am a devoted Christian, wife, mother, & volunteer for the Center for New Beginnings- www.nbeginnings.org (our local non-profit Christian Center for the Special Needs) and also volunteer 1 morning a week at our Church's BiblePlaySchool Program. At the Center, I serve as the Parent Support Coordinator providing resourceful information to other parents as well as hosting monthly Parent Support Group meetings where we as parents can come together to get away from life's everyday struggles as being parents of special needs children for just a brief moment.

Little More about Me........

My daughter and I both have a trach. We both have a rare syndrome, Osteopathia Striata with Cranial Scelrosis. This syndrome has several different names and variations. Abnormalities include: severe obstructive sleep apnea (which causes us to be tracheostomy dependent), very small nasal cavity/passages, hearing impairment, cleft palate, GI issues, very large bones (facial structure issues), dental issues, developmentally delayed, etc. Life span is normal there is no cure, and only a handful of people worldwide with it. I have had my trach for about 25 yrs and have done well if I have to say so myself. Shelby received her trach in 2006, she continues to thrive each day. I look forward to meeting others with similar backgrounds and hope to shed a little bit of hope and inspiration to others. I have posted our story in journal section  to share a little hope, inspiration and know that God is Good All the Time. Please visit Shelby's page for current family updates: www.carepages.com page id: babyshelby

I'm 50 ( I know,  an "old fart" ! lol), and I've just celebrated my 1st anniversary with my lovely wife, Virginia (Feb. 14th  )!

Was married before, but did't work out ...I was young and foolish, lol

Am very happy, Virginia is my best friend !!

I speak English (obviously  ) and quite a bit of Spanish .. Se habla Espanol ?

I just retired from working with children for the local YMCA, and the school district for 11 years  after becoming disabled (part-time career, of sorts !

Previously worked in the Grocery business for 13 years.

Now, I devote my time to my lovely spouse, and my 2 handsome stepsons (Thank God, they don't look like me ! lol )!

Have you heard that Country song, "Mr. Mom", yup ..thats me !!

Ah  .. the  consumate  "house-husband" ...kinda like it ... its fun !!

... Make dinner for Mama and the boys,

keep up the laundry and dishes (Arrg !),

and have lots of time ...

watching my fav shows ("Judging Amy", "Law & Order", and "The Outer Limits")

visiting "on-line, and hangin' with my buddy,  "Tiger"  ( "The Cat" / "El Gato", lol) !!

I almost named my cat "Flaco" (skinny), but I thought it might hurt his feelings lol

Its different being "totally retired" ...sometimes gets boring ..thats where you nice folks come in

... Anytime ANY OF YOU, want to visit, just drop me an e-mail, or I can read your messages in the group site. ok ?
