I'm a Vicks VaporRub user myself. Give plenty of fluids for sore throats and a warm comfy blanket. Karen |

Gargling warm salt water is a must when throat is sore. A hot toddy is something that I find soothing when I feel down with chills and coughing, sniffling. |

I was so flabbergasted by the turpentine enema I forgot to add what home remedy I use. Along with the salt water for nose and throat I am a big believer in ginger ale. Where I live Vernors is top dog . . .just can't beat it. When I was little and sick Dad would pour some in a sauce pan and heat it on the stove so it was like a tea. Tasted great and did the trick. Thanks Dad! |

Oh lordy, I crack myself up! I can't believe I posted that but what the hell, it was late! The question was home remedy and what flew into mind was my good friend/employer who always threatened me with Dr. Herd's turpentine enema cure all when I wasn't feeling well. But you know what? My mil did indeed actually dose her kids with a little turpentine and sugar as a preventitive for worms. |
