Hi group,

I have another challenge for you. Am wondering if there is anything I might be able to find out about the above gentleman who I believe was born in 1884 in Newpoer (on-Tay) Scotland. His parents are given as Thomas and Beatrice.

Alexander Ireland came to Australia when he was 19, so it would be around 1903 and he worked as a compositor/linotype engineer. He married my great-aunt Elsie Ford in 1912 in Sydney.

I am wondering if there is a 1891 census that someone may be able to check for Alexander Kay Ireland in and perhaps his parents, Thomas and Beatrice Ireland.

It is thought that Beatrice's maiden name may be Dudgeon as that is the second name of Alexander's eldest son. This may or may not be correct but thought it should be mentioned as being possible.

Anything on this family anyone can help with would be most appreciated.

Just wanted to say "thank you" for your help with this family. I was trying to help out my cousin who is Alexander's granddaughter as she is a bit of a novice as far as genealogy is concerned. She will be thrilled to pieces when I tell her of your assistance. I have heard from John Ireland, the owner of this site and will pass on all this wonderful news to my cousin today.
