I am looking for more information on my ancestor James Lee..I have him in census images as being born Bledlow Buckinghamshire around 1806/07.He married a Margaret born 1816 Glanworth Cork( havnet found her maiden name).Their Daughter Mary Ann Lee( my GG Grandmother ) is the only child i have confirmed so far.On her baptism on 30.1.1844 at St Johns Kent it states that James was a Sargeant in the 95th Reg and they lived at Dover Heights.I had ordered army records that i thought may be him but there is nothing in there to tell me if i do have the right James...I really need to find a marraige for him and Margaret and also a birth for Mary Ann brother Thomas Lee born 1838/40 in Kent...There are several other children that i havent been able to confirm yet..There is a Margaret 1856 and Henry Lee1852 that i have tried to fiind with no luck as i dont have the GRO references...James also appeared to marry again as he is in the 1871 census with Mary and then Mary on her own  is in the 1881 with Mary Ann Lees children from her first marraige  to Henry Howiit....Margaret and Thomas howitt...i have also checked the online regimental records but the 95th reg doesnt appear to be on there yet....Can anyone help me ..I have been going around in circles for years now with this one.
Thanks
Deb

Well thats a start as in the 1841 census Thomas aged 1 was in Brompton Barracks Gillingham with his parents James and Margaret Lee..It states he was born in the county...so is Sheppey or Elham near Gillingham?..I havent had any luck finding his birth so far

Hi Dizzy

All three places are in the county of Kent.  Gillingham is near Sheppey (the Isle of Sheppey is the full name) and Elham is nearer to Folkestone.

Hope this helps.
