I currently weigh 173 lbs. I was once up to 205 a couple years ago, but got down to 155 this past summer. But my weight is creeping back up. I need to take control or else I will be back to 205 before I know it!

My goal is to weigh 140 or less by summer '07.

My eating plan is to eat healthy foods, with treats occasionally in small amounts. (Moderation is the key!) I also need to drink more water.

My exercise plan is to do Yoga everyday, cardio at least 5 days per week, and strength training 3 times per week.

I think being a member of this group will really help me stay on track and lose weight. I'll journal my progress here everyday. I'm also doing the 5-Star Chart and have a thread set up in that area too.

I ate a ton today, and not very healthy foods! I didn't drink as much water as I should have, and I had a 20 oz Dr. Pepper. I didn't exercise either.

To my credit though, I joined this group in the middle of the day and had already messed up! lol

I don't feel good when I overeat and eat unhealthy foods. My stomach gets upset, and I feel bloated. It also makes me feel even bigger. I don't feel good when I drink soda either...it doesn't quench my thirst and just puts me on sugar overload. Put that together with lack of exercise and I just feel yucky. I need to remember how I feel on days like today before I make bad diet/exercise decisions!

I know that I feel so much better when I eat healthy foods, drink lots of water, and exercise. And I DEFINATELY feel better....physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually....when I am at a healthier weight and taking care of myself the way I know I should.

I am promising myself to stick to my plan tomorrow!!

I got totally off-track on Thanksgiving and yesterday, but I'm off to a good start today. Today I will not eat more than 1,700 calories. I will make sure I have at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies. I will drink lots of water. I will do my Crunch fat-burning Pilates video (40 min) and at least 20 min of Yoga. Today I will be successful!!

My carb and sugar eating and cravings are out of control! I've even put on a few pounds since Thanksgiving because I've just been eating carbs and sugar like crazy.

I decided to try the South Beach Diet. I got the book, and it's a diet that had 3 phases, the last one being a healthy way to eat for the rest of your life. It doesn't look like a complicated diet, and it also doesn't look like a diet I would be starving on. So I'm going to try it. Starting tomorrow!

I haven't been exercising like I should, either. I put together an exercise plan. Yoga and cardio 6 days per week (Sundays off) and strength training 3 days per week.

With the South Beach Diet and adding exercise back into my life, I bet I will be fitting into my clothes better and most importantly FEELING BETTER by Christmas!

The South Beach Diet doesn't work for me...I can't sacrifice all my carbs! So here's what I decided to do instead...allow myself to eat good carbs and eliminate the bad ones. So I can have whole grains and fruit and flavored yogurt....but not allowed to have white bread, cake, cookies, ice cream, chips, etc. It has been working really well for me the past few days. Trying to be carb-free for a few days really made me apprecite the good carbs! Eliminating the bad ones hasn't been a problem.

I'm also counting my calories. No more than 1500 a day, no less than 1200.

I'm taking it easy on myself as far as exercise goes because I've been sick with a bad sinus infection that has been going on for a long time but recently got worse. I'm having surgery on the 12th to fix my deviated septum, some other re-constructive stuff to open up my sinuses, and have my sinuses drained. I'll need to take it easy for at least a week after that. Then I'll start exercising again. The most I've been doing for now is a little Yoga.
